How it all began
It started with a very practical wish. Two friends, both with a weakness for good wine, wanted to finally store their bottles properly and keep track of them all. What's lying where? What's ready to drink now? And which wine was so good last year that another one needs to go in the cellar?
A spreadsheet was never enough for that. So we started building something ourselves. And as it goes when you enjoy what you're doing, it turned into more.
Today, Gustofolio shares our knowledge of all things good to drink. In our drinks encyclopedia, we explain wine, whisky, gin, rum and much more in a way you'll actually enjoy reading. And every day we work on making it as easy as possible for you to log your bottles: instead of typing, you just snap a photo of the label, and Gustofolio fills in the details for you.

What's new
Gustofolio grows every day. Here is what we have recently built and improved.

Every page appears faster
Fonts now load only the characters a page really needs. The makers' map draws far more lightly, and their pages arrive faster.

Makers' pages load faster
Winery and distillery pages now settle at once, with no jumping. The map only loads once the large header image is in place.

Rating: how did it taste?
When rating, sliders now let you say how sweet, fresh or bold it was and whether that suits you. Then tap what you tasted.

Every rating sharpens the tips
Your very first rating counts: we learn how a bottle tastes and what you like. While we still know little about you, our tips stay more careful.

Kontor: nothing you already own
“Picked for you” no longer shows bottles already in your cellar or rated by you. Among similar bottles, the ones that suit you come first.

Noir now knows every drink
Ask Noir for a bottle to buy and it now searches every drink – wine, whisky, gin, rum and more – ordered by your taste.

Map and logo work more smoothly
In the installed app, map pins now appear right away. Tapping the logo at the top left reloads the home page and jumps to the top.

One taste profile for every drink
“Your taste” now brings it all together: wine, whisky, gin, rum and more. If an assessment is off, we ask right there and learn from it straight away.

Shop bottles that suit you
We now know how every bottle at Hawesko and MySpirits tastes. “Right for you” suggests bottles that fit – for every drink you enjoy.

In the Kontor: your exact bottle first
For a saved bottle we first show that very bottle at the shop, then bottles with the same name, then similar ones – now for gin, rum and more too.

The home page in a new light
Atmospheric pictures now show how Gustofolio accompanies your cellar, the temperature and evenings with friends.

Flip through the news with your thumb
On your phone, simply swipe left in this list for older entries and right for newer ones – just like turning the pages of a wine list.

Shop links now work everywhere
With an ad blocker, some places didn't reach the shop. Every shop link now opens the offer, whether from the Kontor, a bottle page or “Right for you”.

Taste questions: just pick one
In the comparison questions, simply tap “I like this” under the picture that suits you better. If you like both or neither, say so with one tap below.

English pages are much lighter
If you use Gustofolio in English, each page now loads only a fraction of the data. You will notice it most on the go.

Producer map: bottles instead of pins
Producers now show up on the map as golden bottles. Hover over one to see its name right away, and the map appears faster.

We tidied up under the hood: pages respond faster, and images are smaller and load more quickly.

Prefer it bright? There is now a warm light look in ivory, bronze and burgundy, all the way into the bars.

Gustofolio is still in beta. Many of you already use the app every day while we keep building it out. For every bit of feedback that's reached us so far, we say thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You've found bugs we'd never have noticed and had ideas we'd never have come up with on our own.

There's a small golden button in the top right of the app labeled Beta. Tap it, and you can write to us or simply speak into it about anything you notice. We read every piece of feedback, collect it, and build it in once it's its turn and it moves Gustofolio forward.
Why your perspective matters so much
When you're deep in building something, you eventually can't see the forest for the trees. You know every button, know where everything is, and overlook exactly the spot where someone new gets stuck. That's where you come in. Every piece of feedback, even the small stuff, shows us where things still don't quite work and what you're really missing. That's how our idea grows, step by step, into an app that fits you.
