Preparation
- Fill the serving glass with solid ice cubes.
- Add the measured ingredients. Cola goes in last and is poured slowly to preserve the carbonation.
- Stir gently until the ingredients combine. When topping up with ingredients, leave some room for the garnish.
- Garnish to finish: lime wedge.
What does it taste like?
Sweetness is the first impression, and that comes from the cola. 120 milliliters of it determine the color, the sugar, and the carbonation that tingles on the tongue. Then the lime steps in. Ten milliliters of juice is enough to cut the sweetness and keep the drink lively. The white rum tastes soft and stays in the background. With 50 milliliters of rum in a full glass, the Cuba Libre is long and mild. It goes down easily, which is exactly why you should keep count.
